It's the scourge of local golf courses this year; a turf condition where stress from winter conditions completely kills the grass. We've heard it ripple throughout the region that a course over there lost 12 greens or a course up there lost 9 greens. And it didn't spare the high-end courses either with private clubs and $100+/round courses finding themselves forced to implement temporary greens.
The condition is due in part to ice buildup and exposure on greens during the winter, something we at Clifton Hollow GC were fortunate enough to avoid. Don Egeberg (course superintendent/co-owner) says, "Even with our winterizing process each Fall, there's a certain amount of luck in coming through the Winter clean."
This season a little luck can go a long way in being able to enjoy your round of golf. The greens at Clifton Hollow GC are again living up to our reputation as some of the best in the region. Stop out soon and see for yourself!

Junior Golf Camp
Check out Clifton Hollow's Junior Golf Camp
Instructed by Matt Garber.

Matt is an expert and innovative golf instructor, who has taught some of the very best players in the state on Wisconsin . He has been coordinating and instructing high quality junior golf camps since 1999.
Junior Golf Camp is devoted to developing basic golf skills, rules, etiquette, and most importantly FUN! There will be contests with great prizes and we play on the par-3 course. Students should have an iron, putter, and driver.

TIME: 8:30 - 9:45 am each day, or 10:30 - 11:45 am each day
AGE: 7 - 12 years old

Opening Week 2011
It's opening week at Clifton Hollow GC and what a great (and overdue) start to the season! The enthusiasm for the 2011 golf season is greater this year than we've seen in a long time. Thanks go out to all the returning golfers from last year, as well as the new ones who have heard the buzz about our course and decided to check us out.
The Course: A question that seems to be popping up is "What's new at Clifton Hollow?". While we haven't made any structural changes to the layout of the course, we continue to make aesthetic changes that involve thinning out some of the older cottonwood trees on the course in an effort to improve turf conditions and diminish the Fall leaf conditions. As has been the case over the past few years, our primary focus for 2011 is putting surfaces and striving for the best greens in the Metro.
The Clubhouse: Golf is certainly one of the most social sports and an integral part of that is the Clubhouse. Whether it's a pre-round toast or a post-round boast, our "Champions Lounge" is again offering great beverages and grill items. In addition, we'll be starting up some great Happy Hour themes that are sure to enhance a great round or ease a difficult one.
Thanks for being part of Clifton Hollow GC and stay tuned for more!
